Support for Team Education and Learning

The Social Workers’ Educational Trust is a charity which promotes social work education. This includes both learning by social workers, and making the public aware of the role and value of social work.

Learning within teams is an important way in which social workers can develop their skills and knowledge.

The Trust can provide financial help of up to £1000 to assist team learning. We would welcome applications from teams in all areas of practice who may wish to organise an event such as a team day, or a series of shorter events. The grant might go towards the cost of a speaker, a facilitator, organisational costs, or resources. All applications will include how relevant diversity issues form part of the learning.

We will invite the group to provide a short account of the issues or learning, and this will be made available on both the SWET and BASW websites as a resource for others.

Teams may be from the public sector, the private sector, or from a more informal network of colleagues. The focus must be on an aspect of social work, and those attending will be practising social workers or members of multi-disciplinary teams in which social work is a significant element.

Due to a specific bequest, applications from Wales would be particularly welcome.
